I'm on the phone a lot every day - and I have arthritis in the hand that I use to hold the receiver. This has been a blessing - don't have to hold it,and the sound is fabulous. Only had it for short time, so I can't speak as to the longevity of the product, but I'm very pleased with it so far.
My husband has used this all-day, every-day for the last 3 1/2 years, and it has been fantastic. Very clear, very durable- wouldn't be without it. We'd definatley buy another one if this one bit the dust.
It took me a while to get used to it. Thank God, it sounded okay in the end and the strange thing was all the settings went back to the default.
My coworker recommended this product to me and the price is about 120 if you buy from store like officemax, so I thought it should have very good quality. I have been using this product for two months.
Then I spent some time to adjust all those settings following the instruction. I got frustrated while I was testing it after I received my order.
First, the sound quality is much worse than not using this headset; Second, I heard myself very loud but the other party's voice was low. So I guess maybe it is like audio set, the more you use it the better it works.
Now, I am fine with it,even though everytime when I pick up the phone, there is always a screaming noise come up and also since I need use the headset for hours straight,so I feel hurt with my ear sometimes, therefore I have to shfit between left and right(it has single earphone).
I called Plantronics about this and they seemed to be very much aware that it was a big issue for most people. You will need to purchase a male 2.5 to male RJ9 adapter.
I have a business type phone that has a 2.5 plug on the side for a head set. I bought this product because I have a home office and I need to be hands free when on the phone.
If you make a lot of calls as I do, this becomes very tiring. If you have a phone with a 2.5 headset jack there is a work around for this. The phone has a button to switch between head set and handset on the phone, the problems was that other people did not always seem to hear me clearly.I bought the S 12 to remedy this problem and it does a good job of amplifying but creates another problem in its place.
In order to use the S 12 you have to remove the handset, dial then hang it up when your through. Just plug the 2.5 to your phone and the RJ9 to the S 12 amplifier and now you can use the button on your phone to switch back and forth rather than having to lift the handset.I thought the adaptor was a little expensive at around $20 but it solved the problem.
My suggestion was that they include the adaptor with the product and charge a couple of dollars more.PS, Amazon to my surprise did not carry this adaptor, but you can find it easily if you Google it.
I can switch depending on earrings, hair style, etc. I love it. It comes with a couple different ear pieces which are both great. The sound quality is great and it's easy to set up. I highly recommend this if you need a head set for a land line.
